Helium Porosimeter

Overview

The instrument is designed to accurately measure the effective porosity of plug-sized rock samples using Boyle's Law. The sample is placed in a sample cell. During testing, helium gas is filled into the reference volume at a constant pressure and then allowed to expand into the sample cell. The initial and final stabilized pressures are recorded and used to determine the sample pore volume, from which porosity is calculated.

  • Easy to use and maintain.
  • Available in both manual and automatic control modes.
  • Digital pressure gauge for quick and accurate data acquisition.
  • A vacuum pump is provided for measuring rock porosity values lower than 2%.

Capillary Pressure by Porous Plate System CPS-2K

The PMI CPS-2K is a computer-controlled system designed for determining capillary pressure curves through the desaturation of single or multiple core samples using the classical porous plate method. The measured data can be used to calculate capillary pressure versus saturation curves and generate tabulated results.
